This plant grows very well in Pakistan’s climate and is ideal for both pots and direct soil (kiyari). Cosmos is a low-maintenance plant that thrives in full sunlight and well-drained soil, making it perfect for beginners as well as experienced gardeners.
You can grow Cosmos in containers (minimum 8–10 inch pot) or directly in garden beds. For best results, maintain a plant-to-plant distance of 25–30 cm, which allows proper air circulation and healthy growth.
For nutrition, use organic compost at the time of planting. During growth, you can apply 20-20-20 fertilizer for balanced development. For better flowering, occasional use of 5-15-45 or 0-0-51 helps increase bloom production. Avoid excessive use of urea or DAP, as too much nitrogen can reduce flowering.
Cosmos plants grow quickly and start blooming within a few weeks, producing continuous flowers throughout the season while also attracting butterflies and pollinators to your garden.
